Hello Ladies,
Happy Sunday.
How was last week for you?
Today is a fresh start, an opportunity to rest and reset. To start again.
September 27th is the anniversary of my Dad’s death, so it was an emotionally charged week for me. Fortunately, my best friend (whose birthday is the same day) reminded me to extend grace to myself. I remembered to do that most of the time, and sometimes I fell into a rut. But overall - all is well.
My girls keep me busy. I find time to prioritize self-care, create content, and have a little fun in between. And in the fall, there is a lot of fun on the schedule!
I also feel like I am getting over a hump this coming week, with October 1st staring us down in the face this Tuesday! Q4 is here! Do you make plans by the quarter? It helps me tremendously with my goals, personally and professionally. Instead of setting goals for the entire year, which can be overwhelming, consider an alternative approach. I tackle everything 12 weeks at a time. Check out this book if you’re interested in this concept - 12 Week Year by Brian Moran.
I want to share an offering with my ladies who are also on their wellness journey or those of you who want to start but don’t know where to begin. We completed the 30-day Fall Wellness Challenge! I have learned some valuable tips on my journey, and hiring a health coach was instrumental in my progress.
Wake up early!
Pray about everything. God will answer.
Plan your meals and workouts.
Cook your food.
Eat on a schedule. If you’re in your thirties or approaching 40, this is a requirement for losing and maintaining a healthy weight. Skipping meals goes against your goal.
Try to hit 10k steps a day.
That’s just two 30-minute walks.
Stay connected with people who feel good to your spirit.
Make sure those same people are holding you accountable.
Lastly, I created a goodie for you!
Download this 30-Day Wellness Challenge Template to get started on October 1st.
Make copies of the template and work the plan daily. Let me know how this works for you!
TV/Streaming - I haven’t been watching much TV.
Fallout—My daughter, Emory, wanted to watch this movie, so I didn’t know what to expect. It’s about a school shooting from the student's perspective—before, during, and after. It’s deep! And Interesting.
The clips on Tia Mowry’s new show have me waiting for its release. It starts on October 4th.
