Happy 2025! We made it! How are y’all feeling? Y’all alright?
It is the first Sunday of the year; what a blessing. I pray you take time to rest, reflect, and recharge today. I’m so happy and grateful to be back in this space. Connecting with other women to share vulnerable moments, laughter, and the latest finds brings me joy.
The last two months of the year flew by, but not without purpose. I celebrated my 40th birthday—won’t He do it? My closest family and friends in my hometown surrounded me, and we had a beautiful time. I’ve been reading how spending time with loved ones is proven to increase serotonin. That’s all I wanted. My 88-year-old Great Aunt, my Mom, her husband, all three siblings, my cousins, aunt and uncles, and a host of bomb friends filled the room with love, laughter, and quality time. My heart was full.

After completing all of my projects for the year, I decided to start 75Hard, which I began on November 30th.
My goal was to lose 40 pounds by my birthday, but I fell short of that goal, losing just over 20 pounds. So, I decided to embark on this journey. My #1 reason for doing it is that I know I can. My confidence and faith have been refreshed so much over the last year that I knew I could complete the challenge with solid focus.

Have you ever heard of 75 Hard? It’s a transformative mental toughness challenge. You must complete a checklist of 7 tasks daily for 75 days. I am currently on 37. While there are some hard days, I am doing well for the most part. Working out twice a day in the winter and as a mom of young kids is inconvenient. But I get it done, one day at a time. I love the mix of workouts - pilates, yoga, dance, strength, spin, walking, and running.
You can follow my journey on Instagram. I post pictures of my daily progress with random photos.
There is something fantastic brewing for TBE! Please join me in counting down to our new website's launch on February 16th. We are currently working on uploading all of the content I’ve created over the last four years. The vision is to create a hub of inspiration through fashion, wellness, beauty, and community. I am ecstatic!
I say it often, but I’ll continue to say it. I am so appreciative of this community and space. My mission is to inspire and to be a vessel. Cheers to a fruitful and gracious 2025!
New year, a new format for ESLM.
I’ll share three thoughts that came to mind this week, two quotes from others, and one scripture.
3 Thoughts to Share -
I. I am currently reading “Fast Like a Girl”. Have you tried Intermittent Fasting? According to the author, who focuses on fasting to your menstrual cycle, it is a superpower that can balance your hormones and manage your weight.
II. I recently joined a call with my Myleik & Mommas community. The purpose of the call was to do virtual goal-planning. The question was posed, “Instead of asking yourself what you want to do with your life, ask yourself, "As a child, what were you interested in? What did you love? What made you spark?
III. I needed to do something that I didn’t know how to do. At that moment, I realized how much I have evolved. Instead of being fearful or making excuses - I immediately said to myself, you can learn. When was the last time you allowed yourself to learn something new? Without being afraid to be a beginner, without judging yourself for not knowing, and without making a grand plan to start.
2 Quotes from Black Women -
1 Scripture to Study -
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.

Beauty
One of my goals for the first quarter is to learn to do my own makeup! I know this is an art, so it will take time. But I want to know how to apply a look so I do not have to pay for a MUA every time I want a full face.
I had the privilege of learning essential foundation techniques from pro makeup artist Tasha Renee, who shared her expertise in achieving the perfect base. As she guided me through the process, Tasha emphasized the importance of understanding different foundation finishes - matte, luminous, or dewy - before diving into application. She uses a "1-2-3 rule" for building coverage, a system that makes it simple to achieve your desired look.

I wish you the happiest New Year! May 2025 be filled with love, intentional rest, community, and all your heart desires.
Love & Light,
