When reading Rihanna’s Interview cover story, where she stated, “Moms are lazy dressers in real life,” I couldn't help but feel seen. The constant bombardment of seemingly perfect fashion on the internet, especially Instagram, can make us feel like we're not doing enough as moms. But as a fellow mom juggling two kids, one of whom is still a toddler, I understand the struggle of finding your personal style in this season of life.

My days are a whirlwind of school drop-offs, tennis and soccer practice, gym sessions, and the occasional fancy office meeting. In this chaos, I’m intentionally (re)building my wardrobe. With both of my girls being active in sports, athleisure has become my go-to. But I've realized that athleisure can be more than just comfortable; it can be stylish and chic too.

Then there’s date night and brunch with girlfriends.

1. I couldn't contain my excitement when I discovered that Shop Iccon released its uber-popular Davenport sets in 3 colors! I immediately got my hands on the reddish-orange set, but I'm also already eyeing the black and white ones. The versatility of these sets is incredible- I can think of at least 4 ways to style the top and bottom separately. Plus, the fabric is so flattering that it hugs all your curves in the right places. Trust me, it’s a must-have!

2. I love this linen bomber jacket from H&M. It is Perfect for the transitioning weather and can be worn in the office or on the weekend. It also comes in black, but I prefer dark olive.

3. What a cute sweater! Yes, open back! This cream open-back sweater from H&M is stylish, comfortable, and affordable! Don’t shoot me; it’s sold out - but enter your email so you can be notified when it’s back in stock.

4. If you know me, you know Kelly green is one of my favorite colors. It is a beautiful hue on most skin tones and can be worn year-round. My favorite store - ZARA, just released a Kelly green suit. Grab it - as usual, everything gold at ZARA sells out fast. Here is the link to the blazer shown above.

5. Graphic tees are always in style and clutch. You don’t have to think as much about your overall look once you have a good graphic tee as your top. I haven’t seen this picture of Tupac before, so I’d grab it to add to my collection. The charcoal base allows for versatility in lip color, accessories, denim color choice, and kicks!

6. How cute is this Norma Kamali white top? It sort of doubles as a classic tee and a nice top. I can vouch for the quality of NK pieces. I know the price is a little elevated for such a simple top - but with proper care - it can be in rotation for at least two seasons - Spring & Summer.

I found yummy dresses! I realize that choosing a dress can be tricky. It really depends on body type, chest size, and occasion. My thought process for weekly finds is mostly around activities that most of us participate in, holidays, and timeless pieces. Email me if you need help finding something a bit more custom.

1. Whew! Sexxxy! This backless black dress from ZARA is everything! It’s both classy and sexy. Grab it soon - it’s still available in all sizes.

2. This floral number from AFRM made me think of a midday lunch on vacation. Imagine returning to your suite after that early morning swim session to shower and then slipping this on for lunch and the second half of your day.

3. A linen take on the little black mini dress from Reformation. Pair with the straw platforms from Target down below in the shoe finds.

4. This picture doesn’t do this color justice. I grabbed this dress on my recent Target run because the color popped out at me. I love a satin slip dress. They feel incredible on your skin. Be sure to size up if necessary. You want to be comfortable and not concerned about how it flows over your body.

5. So, we have to plan for date night, right? Have you been in the gym? Eating all clean? Drinking your water? LOL! If so, this is the time to show off your hard work, girl! Grab this red mini-dress by AFRM if you are in a feisty mood. Pair with your favorite strappy sandals, statement earrings, and clutch. #thatgirl

1. Beyonce’s Cowboy Carter got me wondering how a pair of Levi jeans would look this season. I went looking on their website to see what caught my eye. There are several pairs I would add to my closet, but I decided this stretch high-rise bootcut style in the dark horse shade would be a safe place to start. As black women, we must be wise when shopping online for jeans. We know it takes a lot of stretch to get over these curves. I’ll let you all know how they fit once they come in.

2. I’m in love with these flowy pleated pants from ZARA. They come in 4 colors, so pick your favorite. They are versatile and can be styled in several ways, from the office to a Saturday outside.

4. Lately, I’ve been living in these wide- leg sweatpants from Shop BrownStone. Unfortunately, I only have 2 small grey in stock and will not be restocking. In case you missed it, the retail boutique is closing down for good, and everything is 60% off the original price.

5. My new favorite cargos from Target are these cognac cargos by Wild Fable. The rich brown hue elevates the fabric. I sized up for a baggy, oversized look. I paired it with the “Love Yours” tee from Shop BrownStone.

1. ZARA for the win! This envelope suede clutch comes in 3 beautiful colors. I often find myself reaching for a pop of color with my handbag choice.

2. I usually rotate 3 pairs of quality gold earrings throughout the week to pull my look together. These statement studs caught my attention as a smaller option for your accessories.

3. Staples are always the goal when curating your closet. But how do you elevate those pieces? How do you mix it up? Accessorize! This silver brooch screams chic and high fashion. Add it to your favorite blazer any day of the week to step up your overall look.

4. Quay. + Aviator. + Tortoise. = Sold!

5. My all-time favorite classic gold hoop. Make it black-owned! And they won’t fade. Two snaps!

6. Is it time for vacation yet? Be sure to pack this in your suitcase. This straw clutch from Mango can be worn in any color or fabric. And will be a vacation staple for years to come.

7. Last but not least, this bucket bag by Zara is one of those rare finds. I carry my staple bags on a daily basis, but sometimes I want to mix it up and keep it light. I recommend this combo bucket bag for the warmer months.

1. You could not have told 28-year-old me that I would be curating a sneaker collection. I have loved heels since I started wearing them in high school. Fast forward ten years into motherhood, and through the dirty thirties and in comes comfort over everything! We can still buy cute sneakers. Fortunately for us, they come in all colors, sizes, and shapes. We can even wear them with suits in 2024. I’m here for these white and colorful Nike Air Max 90s. The styling options are endless.

2. Shout out to our niece, Blue Ivy! I have not one regret wearing my panda dunks multiple times a week!

3. This black Gianni Bini wedge heel works for multiple occasions. They can be worn to the office and with jeans. The wedge will support your knees for most of the day. The gold heel gives direction for accessorizing the rest of your look.

4. I love this nude bow slingback from ZARA! Clearly, I’m not alone because it is almost sold out.

5. A leopard mule by Steve Madden? Why not? I can think of so many ways to rock this effortless chic heel.

6. Summer calls for pretty pedicures, kids running around, vacations, and so much more goodness! I’m curating my sandal collection, and these platform straw-like slides from Target caught my eye.
