Nourishing and Loving Yourself into the New Year

Season 3, Episode 1 Featuring Dominique Jeffries

Hey hey TBE Tribe!

We are ringing in the new year with a solid focus on our health and wellness. Let’s discuss supplements, parasites (yikes!), and high-quality superfoods.

I enjoyed talking with holistic health coach Dominique Jeffries about the importance of self-nourishment and holistic wellness. Our conversation revealed powerful insights about how women can prioritize their health while managing busy lives.

A Journey of Transformation

Dominique's path to holistic health began in Louisville, Kentucky, where she witnessed all four of her grandparents struggle with lifestyle diseases. This early experience planted a seed that would later flourish in unexpected ways. After moving to Miami in 2018 for the sun and water, she found herself working demanding restaurant hours and struggling with her own health challenges.

A severe urinary tract infection in 2019 became her wake-up call. "Life forces us to slow down," Dominique shared, describing how this health crisis led her to pray for guidance about her true purpose. When the pandemic hit and she lost her restaurant job, she discovered an ultimate lifestyle transformation program that would change her life's trajectory.

The Power of Natural Nourishment

One of the most compelling aspects of our discussion centered on the importance of cellular-level nourishment. Dominique introduced me to a power shake that provides the equivalent nutrition of six superfood salads. "This nourishment is so pure that it actually bypasses all of that and allows you to be able to detoxify but nourish at the same time," she explained.

The products she shared with me include:

  • A nutrient-dense power shake

  • Super aminos for protein support

  • Biomedic for gut health

  • A tart cherry juice for evening consumption

The Gut-Emotion Connection

Perhaps the most fascinating part of our conversation was exploring the connection between gut health and emotional well-being. Dominique emphasized how women's intuition is deeply connected to gut health, explaining that many of our emotional and physical challenges can be traced back to what happens in our digestive systems.

Making Health Sustainable for Busy Women

As a mother and professional, I appreciated Dominique's practical approach to health. She shared stories of clients from all walks of life—from truck drivers to nannies to busy moms—who successfully incorporated these wellness practices into their daily routines. The key is finding solutions that fit seamlessly into our existing lifestyles rather than forcing dramatic changes.

Three Keys to Prioritizing Health in the New Year

We concluded our conversation by sharing six practical tips for women looking to prioritize their health:

Dominique's recommendations:

  1. Prioritize nourishment through nature

  2. Spend time outside in nature

  3. Make time for regular "artist dates" with yourself - dedicated time doing something you love

My additions:

  1. Commit to a daily walk, even if it's just during your lunch break

  2. Review your calendar the night before to plan your next day

  3. Establish a consistent grocery shopping routine

The Bigger Picture

What struck me most about our conversation was how holistic health isn't just about physical wellness - it's about nurturing ourselves on all levels: physical, emotional, and spiritual. As Dominique shared her journey from restaurant worker to holistic health practitioner, it became clear that true transformation often begins with giving ourselves permission to prioritize our own well-being.

For my TBE tribe of professional women on the go, this conversation offers valuable insights into how we can better care for ourselves while managing our busy lives. It's not about adding more to our plates - it's about finding sustainable ways to nourish ourselves that align with our existing routines and responsibilities.

Moving Forward

As we step into the new year, I'm reminded of something Dominique said about the importance of starting small and building sustainable habits. Whether it's committing to a morning power shake, taking a daily walk, or simply spending a few moments in nature, every step toward better self-care counts.
